Cape Cod & South Shore Roofing Contractor

COMPREHENSIVE ROOFING DEFENSE IN DENNIS & THE MID-CAPE

In Dennis, where weather patterns shift rapidly from marshland fog to hurricane-force gusts, a standard installation is insufficient. We deliver a disciplined, systematic approach to roof replacement, ensuring your home remains watertight for decades.

In-House Accountability: We do not farm out our reputation. Our uniformed, trained crews manage the project from tear-off to cleanup.
Coastal Defense Systems: Installation protocols designed to resist 110+ MPH wind uplift and salt corrosion.
Historic Expertise: Deep experience navigating Old King’s Highway (OKH) requirements for Northside homes.
Fully Credentialed: CSL 120645 | HIC 198901.

THE DUAL THREAT: SALT SPRAY AND NOR'EASTERS

Why standard roofing fails in Dennis.

Dennis presents a unique geographical challenge for roofing materials. A “one-size-fits-all” approach often leads to premature failure because the environmental stressors differ depending on your village.

The Northside Challenge (East Dennis / Dennis Village): Homes near Cape Cod Bay face bitter Nor'easters and heavy shade from mature tree canopies. This combination encourages moss and lichen growth, which eats away at asphalt granules. Furthermore, inadequate attic ventilation in these older, historic homes often leads to severe ice damming, forcing water under the shingles and rotting the fascia.
The Southside Challenge (Dennis Port / West Dennis): Homes along Nantucket Sound are subjected to constant salt aerosol and relentless southerly winds. Standard galvanized nails rust and fail, leading to "shingle blow-off." If the installer uses a standard nailing pattern rather than a "Hurricane Pattern" (6 nails per shingle), the roof will not survive a major storm event.

THE LIONS INSTALLATION

A Disciplined System for Watertight Integrity

We do not simply replace shingles; we construct a vertical armor system tailored to your specific location in Dennis.

1. Total Substrate Exposure

We strip the roof down to the bare wood deck. Inspecting the plywood or planking is non-negotiable. We identify and replace rot caused by slow leaks or condensation, ensuring the new system has a solid foundation to grip.

2. The "Leak Lock" Perimeter

Code requirements are minimal; our standards are absolute. In Dennis, we install a high-grade Ice & Water Shield barrier well beyond the minimum requirements, covering eaves, rakes, valleys, and skylight perimeters. This self-sealing membrane prevents water intrusion even if ice dams form during a freeze-thaw cycle.

3. Balanced Ventilation Architecture

Heat buildup destroys shingles from the inside out. We calculate the precise Net Free Area (NFA) required for your home, balancing intake (soffit) and exhaust (ridge) ventilation. This keeps the attic temperature stable, mitigating ice dams and extending the manufacturer warranty of your roof.

4. Corrosion-Resistant Fastening

For our projects south of Route 28 or near Corporation Beach, we utilize specific corrosion-resistant fasteners. We employ a precision nailing zone technique to ensure maximum wind resistance, preventing the "zipper effect" where shingles lift in high winds.

THE RISKS OF "LAYOVERS"

In an effort to save money, some contractors in Dennis will offer a “layover”, nailing new shingles over the old layer. Lions Siding & Roofing refuses to compromise your home with this method. Layovers add significant weight to the framing, trap heat that cooks the new shingles, and, most importantly, hide structural rot. We believe in total clarity. You cannot fix what you cannot see. We build from the bottom up to ensure structural integrity.

Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Yuri, my whole career has been spent in the construction business. I am particularly impressed by your company. From sales and estimating through scheduling and field coordinating all of your assets have been far above average. Ty made a great presentation as a sales representative of your company and Iago supervised a very competent crew, responded to my concerns about schedule and finished this job early with little interruption in our lives. Thank you again for your excellent service.

Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Ty Soares, who works for this company, is a kind individual, a man who can be relied on and trusted. He found me stranded and lost with my two dogs in a conservation area parking lot and took time out of his busy day to give my dogs water and he drove me and my dogs to my car which was a few miles away. I am getting an estimate for new windows from this company because if their employees are like Ty, that is who I want to do business with.

Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Thanks to Yuri, Ty, Gabriel and the entire Lions Roofing Team for an amazing job installing our new roof. From start to finish, this is a first class company that makes sure they deliver what they promise and that the customer is satisfied when the job is complete. Ty did a thorough pre-inspection of both the inside and outside of the roof area, eaves ridge and gutters. The written quote was one of the best I've ever received and they provided copies of their insurance and license for piece of mind. Project Manager Gabriel was on site before, during and after completion, and always available to answer any questions. The overall job was completed in one day, with a follow-up day for a couple of hours to finish a couple of additional requests I had. One point I must bring up was how clean the job site was after they were done. If you have any roofing or siding projects coming up. I give my endorsement to Lions Siding and Roofing!
Thanks again!

COMPONENTS BUILT FOR THE COAST

We partner with manufacturers that offer warranties backed by science, not just marketing.

Architectural Asphalt (GAF / Owens Corning)

High-definition shingles featuring LayerLock™ technology for superior wind adhesion and algae-fighting copper granules to prevent unsightly black streaks common in shaded Dennis neighborhoods.

Eastern Red Cedar

For homes requiring historic accuracy or unmatched aesthetic appeal. We install premium heavy-butt shingles with proper "breather mats" to allow the wood to dry, preventing cupping and rot.

Low-Slope Solutions (EPDM/TPO)

Many Dennis porches and additions have low pitches. We use commercial-grade rubber membranes that are impervious to standing water and salt exposure.

CLARITY, DISCIPLINE, AND OVERSIGHT

Local Accountability

We operate out of the Mid-Cape. We know the Dennis building inspectors and the specific wind zone codes.

Structured Project Management

You will never be left guessing when the crew will arrive or when the dumpster will be removed. Your Project Manager provides consistent updates.

Respect for Property

We utilize a “Clean Build” process, using tarps to protect your hydrangeas and decking, and running magnets to ensure your driveway is safe for tires and feet.

SECURE YOUR HOME WITH CERTAINTY

Do not wait for a ceiling stain to address your roofing needs. Contact Lions Siding & Roofing for a comprehensive, honest assessment of your roof’s condition. We provide a detailed project plan, not a high-pressure sales pitch.

NAVIGATING THE OLD KING’S HIGHWAY (OKH)

If your home is located on the Northside (Dennis Village or East Dennis), it likely falls under the jurisdiction of the Old King’s Highway Historic District Committee. Compliance is not optional. Lions Siding & Roofing acts as your partner in this process. We guide you toward approved materials, typically specific asphalt color blends or natural cedar, and assist with the necessary documentation to ensure your project proceeds without administrative delays.
